JOIN THE COMMUNITY
An online community of ordinary Christians seeking an intentional (ascetic) life of
contemplation and social justice.
A new monasticism
Manaigh nua (pronounced mahnna newa) comes from the Irish language and means, “the new monks”. It captures the spirit of this online community of people drawn to an intentional Christian life of prayer, study, and justice. The Christian life is a pilgrimage, or journey, in which the Holy Spirit helps us to love as God loves. As we grow in this love, we go into the public square to advocate for a world that better reflects the love, grace, compassion, diversity and justice of the Kingdom of God.
Standing in solidarity with the oppressed and marginalized, speaking out and working for a society that better reflects the justice and compassion of Jesus, intentionally finding ways to acknowledge privilege (especially one’s own) to make room for other voices to be heard and valued. Learn More
Practicing Justice by hearing people’s stories! One of the ways we recognize one another’s humanity is by sharing and hearing stories. It also a way to raise awareness to injustice and learn real people’s struggles around issues like systematic racism, poverty, and sexual orientation.
