If you are called to follow the simple way of Jesus through an intentional way of life in a new Monastic Community, these are the steps:

1.     Pray about the Rule of Life, listen if God is calling you to practice this intentional way of being Christian.
2.     If you do feel called to live out this rule of life, fill out the form at the bottom of the Rule of Life page.
3.     At this point, you will be placed in a group that meets online once a month to support and encourage one another.
4.     An Oblate period will be for one year.  This is an opportunity for you to “try out” the Rule of Life first-hand, to faithfully and prayerfully practice its intentional way of being.
5.     After a year, an Oblate takes vows to become a full Monk (Manaigh Nua).  This simply means you have tried out the Rule of Life and feel called to make it a more long-term way of life.
6.     These monastic vows are not necessarily for life.  They may be for a season and we recognize that God may lead one away from this community for one reason or another.  Even those who have taken vows of a full Monk should feel this freedom.  It is honored and respected, without judgment or condemnation.  We trust the movement of the Holy Spirit all through this process.
